Founded in 1803 the Newhaven Lifeboat Station
is amongst the oldest in the country. Formed some 21 years before the Royal National
Lifeboat Institution
itself, it celebrated its' 200th Anniversary in May 2003. From these pages you can learn a
little of our Stations past and hopefully a lot more about its present and
future. In creating this site we have used a large number of photographs from the
Station's archives for which we do not have details of the original owners. Wherever
possible when the originator of a photograph is known for certain we have given
appropriate credit. If you have any photographs of the Newhaven Lifeboat on service which
you would be prepared to allow us to use on this site, with appropriate credit given,
please contact the webmaster.
