| Founded in 1803 the Newhaven Lifeboat Station is
amongst the oldest in the country. Formed some 21 years before the Royal National Lifeboat
Institution itself, it celebrated its' 200th Anniversary in May 2003. Throughout the
Stations history the lifeboats of Newhaven have provided rescue cover for those in
distress off the South Coast. From these pages you can learn a little of our
Stations past and hopefully a lot more about its present and future. Through
the links you will be able to visit sites representing our colleagues and others concerned
as we are with the saving of life at sea. Neither Newhaven Lifeboat Station nor the Royal
National Lifeboat Institution are responsible for the content of external internet sites
accessed through the links from this site. In creating this site we have used a large number of photographs from the Station's archives, which have been given to us over many years and in truth we do not have details of the original owners. Wherever possible when the originator of a photograph is known for certain we have given appropriate credit. If anyone believes that their photographs have been used without consent please contact the webmaster and we will either give appropriate credit or remove the photographs if preferred. If you have any photographs of the Newhaven Lifeboat on service which you would be prepared to allow us to use on this site, with credit given, please contact the webmaster . This site is maintained by members of the Newhaven Lifeboat Station, and as such, may not represent fully or in part the views of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
